"I have been through a life altering experience. I don't know what suddenly draws me to bright, pretty lights in the shops on State Street. Do the lights reflect hope for the future? I seem to have suppressed the fears that the cancer experience can elicit. But beneath it all, there is a real draw to the beauty in those lights. Yes, they are commercial, but they are pretty. And they ease me away from the job fixation that was so much a part of my life." - Steve

"It has been such a joy to be included this project. I cannot measure what I have learned about personal courage and sharing. Watching Steve smile while we were working on his photography project was the best reward. I realize now what it means to make a small contribution outside of my own artistic needs When I sit together with the other participants I realize what a gift we are giving to each other and possibly to others with the help of the documentary.
