"The Aphrodite Project has allowed me to go back and look at the amazing, difficult, and intense 'odyssey' that I have been through. I explored my emotions and feelings as they related to my medical experience, which I was unable to look at while undergoing the treatments due to severe pain and the effects of medication. The art piece will allow me to venture into my past experiences as I look at it hanging on the wall in our home." - Mike

"From beginning to end, this experience has been a journey of quietly, passionate commitment and spiritual readiness. To execute the paintings, I sought to know Mike's internal world to enter with my imagination and heart into his pain, and his joy. Mike is a warrior. Gentle though he may be, his ability to survive and the recreate himself into a life defined by love is an achievement to be recognized and honored. I can think of no better way to do this then through the artistic process."- Marina
