Mary and Karen decided to create a wearable art piece, in the form of a vest, having discovered they both had loved sewing in the past. Mary's vest, called, "Start of the Journey" reflects a part of a dream she had between her second and third cancer surgeries. The powerful dream was about making choices, about the choices one has to make in order to achieve health, wholeness and harmony, The figures on the vest are representative of the sacred feminine as symbolized in Greek mythology.

Karen, an artist of diverse talent and mediums, states: "The project has given me a wonderful new friend, With Mary, we have explored the processes of creating together with lots of laughter, empathy and quiet understanding," Truly working as a team, Karen created a vest as well, which she wore at the finale of the project along with Mary.
