Martha and Deborah worked in the medium of assemblage. The amazing
trust that developed between the creator and the artist, allowed
Martha to express the darkness of her cancer experience in two pieces,
one entitled "Mother's Day 2004" depicting her experience
with radiation and the loss of her mother during that time, and
the second, entitled "Dr. Bad News" , graphically depicting
how she felt upon receiving her diagnosis.

Deborah an artist who works in a variety of mediums including watercolor,
collage, book arts and assemblage, states: "Martha has affirmed
my theory that we are all artists, all we are needing is a bit of
encouragement and the right medium. We all have a story and that
story deserves a voice. Martha has shown incredible courage in art
and in life."
