Lyrics
Our love was innocent and pure.
We walked a path so free and fair.
Everday was bright and new
All the colors of a rainbow hue.
Who would have thought
It would happen to us?
That day, time stopped, trying to topple our trust.
CHORUS
With hope, peace and love
Each day is a gift
With strength from above
We will survive and strive
We are alive
Oh
. . . where do we begin?
It seems we searched from within.
Yesterdays are all faded and gone.
We now wake to a lonely and desperate dawn.
Though . . . the mountains are high
We took deep breaths and stopped only for a sigh.
CHORUS
Today is brighter
And our hearts are much lighter.
We have found how to accept,
And not try to perfect.
With our souls
Now stable and connected
We have vowed our love
To remain protected.
"As I began to write the lyrics, I reflected on my experiences
with cancer and what effect it had on the relationship with my husband,
Steve. I wanted to combine a love song that everyone could relate
to with powerful words that cancer survivors and their loved ones
would understand. It is my sincere wish that those who listen will
find the strength to endure adversity and to know that the sun will
once again rise above." -Ann
"It
has been very rewarding for me to give shape and form to the Creator's
ideas; ideas shared that I never would have come up with alone.
The ability to visualize beauty out of chaos helps in many ways."-Bonnie
